Wars, conflicts between people, negative circumstances and events through to climate change... these could all be reasons for a depressing, miserable Christmas 2024. Goodbye festive mood!
Are there also facts for a great festive mood? Plenty!
Jesus Christ came into this world. His arrival was celebrated in a small way, but it caused great joy in people's hearts: ‘Behold, I proclaim to you great joy...’ (Luke 2, verses 10-11).
Many rejoice and continue to rejoice today. Their Christmas joy is not just about presents, health and security, but about confidence and hope. Trusting in God's omnipotence does not make everyday life any better, but it does make it easier to endure imponderables and disagreements. Contentment is a matter of the heart and is not controlled by external influences alone!
How does that work? How can I feel it? How can I suppress the depressing and miserable and instead feel joy and a great festive mood?
Come to our Christmas Service on Wednesday, 25 December 2024! Experience an infectious festive mood, not just for the duration of the service, but with a lasting effect.
Divine Service on Christmas, 25th December 2024:
This special Service will start at 11.00 a.m. as an exception. As in previous years we will have Vicente Giner playing the organ, as well as Friedel Mitas, who many of you know from our Advent Concerts. Other soloists and the Mixed Choir will embellish the Service. The music programme begins at 10.40 am.
Immediately after the Service we will experience a mini-concert that has it all: Friedel Mitas and other soloists, and of course Vicente Giner at the organ, will thrill us! Everyone is invited to let themselves be infected by the festive mood that is at home in our church!
After the service, there will be coffee, cake, mulled wine and biscuits to match the festive mood.
