Dear Readers,
There are people who confuse Christmas with a shopping frenzy. The hunt is on. The hunt for the ultimate gift! For Christians, Advent and Christmas are a time of remembrance and expectation:
- A Christian remembers the Saviour Jesus Christ, who came into the world as a man to rise again.
- A Christian expects the coming Christ, the bridegroom, who wants to return to His church and transform it.
God never makes empty promises. He keeps what He promises. Many hundreds of years before the birth, the Son of God was announced. Who was waiting for Him? How many were there?
Humanity is incorrigible. God's promises are not honoured by many people: For this Son of God promised to come again. Who is waiting for Him? How many are there?
God's promise back then has materialised, so will the next one.
In the Advent and Christmas season, let us become aware of this promise again and celebrate Christmas as those who remember very well and gratefully what was, but also await with a living faith what is to come!
Kind regards,
Wolfram Laube
